OUR STORY

We created The Trailhead Public House & Eatery during the Covid Pandemic in 2020 in this historic building that was structured in 1886.

With the charm of the building and our passion to create healthy, enjoyable & memorable food, we endeavor to gain patrons yes, but to also gain friends, lasting impressions and good times for all who visit our dream.

Our menu changes seasonally to ensure we are always using the freshest ingredients available, locally sourced fruits and vegetables, or to simply offer new or more menu selections & Always Keep It Home Made

HISTORIC BUILDING CONSTRUCTED IN 1886

The adobe structure Hammond Mercantile has housed many businesses over it's  138 years of standing. This including a post office, Maytag, UPS, several Dr's offenses, a grain mill, & a motor repair shop.  The Poplar Place, known for pizza, draft beer, and great company stood strong through the  70's & 90's and during it's popularity, hosted ZZ Top from time to time for some local entertainment.

At the time of this fire, the Poplar Place was a local favorite hot spot.
